2009

January 2, 2009

Well, it’s another new year. It’s taken me a while to get up my obligatory New Year’s post, but I’ve been pretty lazy lately. I’ve had a lot of time off from work and I’ve spent most of it out with friends, relaxing or playing my Wii. Sure, I could have come on and did a quick post sooner, but I just figured it could wait.

I don’t have any resolutions per se, but I’m going to try to start looking for another job. I need to be making more money and I don’t see the possibility for a raise anytime soon at my current job. Of course there’s the whole trying to get healthier thing, but I started working on that a few months back.

I’ll try to post on my blog more, but I’m not making any promises. Hopefully the new year brings plenty of shenanigans that I can write about. So, hope everyone has a great 2009 and I’ll see you around on your blogs.

Early Holiday Greetings

December 19, 2008

camerapics

Just wanted to make sure I (and Spiderman up there) wished everyone a happy holiday season. I will be taking next week off from work and so after today I probably won’t be online much. I’ll be keeping busy doing other things, mostly sleeping.  I will come by to leave a comment or two on other blogs when I can. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday. I know I will enjoy every minute I don’t have to be at work!

On Break

November 10, 2008

I need to take a temporary leave of my blog. I’m still working on dial-up at home and therefore am rarely online. And to top things off my company has decided to eliminate all internet access for now. So, I actually have to work when I’m there. I know…crazy, huh? So, I just won’t be around as much. I’m more likely to come by and comment on your blogs, but don’t expect too many new posts in the near future. Look forward to reading everyone else blogs in the interim and I hope to be back to regular posting soon.

It’s A Dead Man’s Party

October 31, 2008

That’s right folks. It’s the greatest day in October…Halloween!

I hope you all have a fantastic day. I have to get through the work day first. However, with all the potlucks and holiday nonsense then today shouldn’t be too bad. Then I can head off to my nightime shenanigans. I’m going to drink myself retarded tonight. Which shouldn’t be hard since all my previous years of drinking has already given me a head start. I am wearing a costume for the first time ever to work too. I am a referee, of course. Anyways, hope everyone makes it a great one no matter what you end up doing.

Bubba & Booze

October 6, 2008

I have to start off by saying I’m tired and Mondays suck! I had a pretty relaxed weekend though, which was nice. However, I did have an impromptu running session yesterday as I had to chase my mother’s dog around the neighborhood when he got out of her house. He’s barely two years old so he’s full of energy and runs fast! Luckily I caught him.

Anyway, aside from the pooch prison break, I spent most of the weekend just running a couple of errands and relaxing. I did manage to purchase some more Halloween decorations. I may put more pictures up later in a future post as I’m sure I’ll end up buying even more stuff. I do have a picture of my fully grown Halloween Goblin from my previous post which I named Bubba. Here he is in his full size glory.

He really only grew to be about 3-4 inches tall. The package says I can grow him again so I guess I just have to wait until he shrinks back down again.

After my day of running errands I knew I needed to booze up a little so, I had a friend over Saturday night and we decided to purchase Budweiser’s American Ale beer to try.

I actually really enjoyed it. It’s very much like an amber ale.  It’s a good malt that has a rich brown notes. It was pretty crisp as well. The flavor reminds me of Fat Tire. So, if you like Fat Tire then I would recommend this one.

Well, that sums up my weekend. Sorry the pictures are kind of dark, but I didn’t have a lot of lights on. It rained Saturday night so, we kept the lights dim and the door opened. It really felt like fall/winter and it was nice. But it’s supposed to be 90 degrees again by Wednesday…damn.

You Talkin’ To Me?

September 23, 2008

I have a situation at work that causes me to wonder when people are talking to me. There are two other co-workers here who share my first name. Those of you who know my real first name will know that it’s not a super common name. I’ve actually never worked anywhere with someone having the same name as me. Now, the last 3 years I’ve been at this company I’ve worked with two others that have the same name. So, I’m constantly hearing my name and wondering if they’re talking to me or even about me. It’s a little frustrating.

The worst is when we get a new receptionist, which is often, and she forgets to use a last name or initial when she pages. So, the three of us end up wondering which one of us is actually being paged.

I’ve heard my name a handful of times today. Only once was someone actually talking to me. I think I should start putting on my resume that I can not work in an office where someone else shares my name, unless they agree to be called Bucky once I start.

Why isn’t it Friday yet???

Also, be sure to check out Dan’s post on his Spidey tin. It’s a great read and he’s got a piece on the Batman Happy Meal.

If You Ain’t First, You’re Last

September 22, 2008

So, I had quite a busy weekend. Before I proceed with my uneventful summary I suggest reading DJ D’s post on the Spidey tin he won from me. He even makes fun of me a little in it. So, go on and read it. You will not be disappointed.

On to the weekend. I decided on Saturday morning to walk to my mother’s house instead of drive. I figured it’s a good way to get some exercise in and save on gas money. It took me an hour and a half to get there. I think I’ll drive next time. Anyhoo, since I walked I took streets that I don’t normally drive through much. So, I noticed a few things I hadn’t paid much attention to before. One of those things that caught my eye was this.

Sorry the picture is dark, but that says T&A Taco. Suggestive much? Perhaps a little subliminal advertising at work? I can only imagine the confused men coming in there only to realize that it is in fact nothing more than an eating establishment. I was quite amused. So, I guess it was good that I walked or I would have not seen this for a while.

I also did a little shopping with my mom in the afternoon. I saw these at Wal-Mart.

Those are mozzarella stick and onion blossom flavored Pringles. Has anyone tried these? I didn’t buy any because I’m trying to cut back on my junk food intake. Plus, I wasn’t sure if I’d like them. I need some feedback from someone who’s tried them first. If someone tells me they’re okay, then I might give them a shot.

Sunday was spent all day at the sports bar watching football. My team lost, they’re 0-3, they suck…blah, blah, blah. But it was fun being there with the other football fans. Even had a friendly little argument with a 49ers fan. Now I’m tired and a little hungover. I may have to leave work early because I’m “sick”. I need a nap!

That sums my last couple of days up. How was everybody else’s weekend?
