Air Force One

March 18, 2009

Yeah, I know I haven’t posted in an eternity but, just wanted to drop in a quick ninja post. I’m sure most of you heard that President Obama was coming to Southern California today. If you didn’t hear then you need to get out from under your rock. Anyways, he landed at the Long Beach airport which is right across the street from my job with the major runway running right behind our office. So, for anyone who cares here’s a pic of the plane landing that I took from right outside my office.

There was a lot of security and police vehicles all around the area but, luckily I didn’t get caught in any traffic mess. Okay, that’s all. See everybody in another couple of months. 😉

Edit: Here’s a better pic one of my co-workers took.

California Is Ablaze

November 15, 2008

There’s been fires all over California this week and today it got worse. There is one about 20 miles away from me that has caused the city to be engulfed in smoke. Here’s a picture I took earlier. Keep in mind this picture was taken at 2:30 in the afternoon.

This picture was taken just a block up from my place. It’s really depressing here. My lungs hurt and my eyes sting from all the smoke. I just hope that everyone who’s near the fires is safe and that this gets taken care of soon.

Update: Here’s what the ground looked like this morning. Yep, that’s ash and it’s everywhere. I’ll have a more upbeat post tomorrow. Today I’m just going to stay in and avoid the smokey air.

Winless No More…

The Rams won! THE RAMS WON!! THE RAMS WON!!!!

That is all. We will resume our regularly scheduled blog posting next week.

Weekend Happenings

September 29, 2008

So, I thought I’d post a quick blurb on the weekend and it’s events. This is just a short post as I had one heck of a busy long weekend and I’m exhausted today. I really just want to take a nap under my desk, but apparently they frown on that at my job.

Some of you have already brought it up, and yes I’m well aware that Scott Linehan was fired as the Rams head coach. I doubt anyone is surprised by that. They are 0-4, have been outscored 147-43, have a paper thin defense and Linehan’s decision to bench Bulger for old man Trent Green is baffling. I can only hope that Chip Rosenbloom is working on making a lot more needed changes to get this team back to form.

On another note, I fell once again this weekend. I think this is my 3rd fall this year. Unfortunately, I re-injured my already bad knee and it’s bruised and swollen. Therefore I’m in some pain and rather uncomfortable. So, my mind isn’t focused too much which is why I don’t have a better post today. I’ll hopefully have more in the next couple of days. For now, I just want to go home, ice my knee, and take a nap!

Tugging At The Heart Strings

August 19, 2008

I just watched this video of a mother gorilla mourning the death of her baby as she carries his lifeless body around. It’s truly sad to watch. Even though the video says the death may have been caused by the mother’s neglect, it’s still very hard to watch her cradle him. I got a little sad watching this so, just letting you know.

Creepy By Olympic Proportions

August 8, 2008

With the start of the Olympics, I keep running into stories, banners, or ads for it. In casually glancing at some stuff I saw a picture of the mascots. Is it just me or are the 2008 Beijing Olympic mascot’s kind of creepy looking?

They remind me of those 80s/90s horror movies where toys come to life and kill you. I swear I’m going to see the shadows of these little freaks running around in my bedroom tonight!

According to the official website:

Fuwa embody the natural characteristics of four of China’s most popular animals — the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow — and the Olympic Flame.

All I know is that smug looking bastard panda is giving me the evil eye! And why does he appear to be in a boxer’s stance?! He’s the little SOB that I’m going to find sneaking into my room tonight…I just know it.

I’m Alive!

July 30, 2008

As some of you may have already heard, we did have an earthquake here in Los Angeles yesterday. Turns it out it was a 5.4 after all. There was no major damage or injuries other than some shaken nerves. Especially mine…I really hate the quakes.:( At least I haven’t felt any of the aftershocks and last I checked there’s been over 50. Anyways, thanks to those who checked on me. Just want to let everyone know I’m okay.

My blog only received minor damages.
