One Heck of a Bad Day!

May 30, 2008

So, I decided to sit back and watch a DVD last night and went with one of my all time favorites, Falling Down!

If you have not seen this movie, I highly recommend it! It is a must watch! I guarantee you’ll love it. There are so many classic scenes in this movie. This is Michael Douglas at his acting best!

The film is basically about a guy, Bill Foster, who’s divorced and recently laid off from his job who finally snaps while caught in a traffic jam. He abandons his car and starts his journey to his ex-wife’s house and his descent into crazy! He’s decided to start a war on the everyday world and just give it a big old middle finger.

He first flips out on a Korean store owner for trying to charge him 85 cents for a can of Coke. When the store owner pulls a bat on him, he takes the bat away, destroys the merchandise he deems too expensive, pays what he thinks is fair for the soda and leaves.

Afterwards, our protagonist comes across some gangsters. He’s apparently in their territory. This scene is just too funny to describe. Just see for yourself.

And in one of the all time classic scenes, this guy goes nuts on a “Whammy Burger” for not selling him breakfast at 11:33 because they stop selling breakfast at 11:30. We can all relate to this with McDonald’s and their breakfast cut off time, ugh.

Even though this guy is a complete nut job, you can’t help rooting for him. He’s extreme about every situation, but how many of us haven’t felt like going off like that sometimes. I can’t say it enough…everyone has to watch this film!

Well, it’s finally Friday!!!! I’m counting down the minutes until I get out of work and start my weekend! Hope everyone has a great weekend. And if you’re looking for something to do, I don’t know, how about renting this movie! :)

Playing with Food

May 29, 2008

A friend recently sent me these pics. I have no idea who did these, but they are pretty cool. I wish I had some weird talent like this. It would be awesome to have a party or bbq and have food laid out like this! But, then I’d almost not want to eat any of it because it looks so pretty. Anyways, enjoy!

Oversleeping

May 28, 2008

So, I overslept and showed up to work an hour later than usual. I’m not technically late because I have a job where I can show up at anytime as long as I work a full day. Problem is now I have to stay later than I usually do, but it felt good to get that extra hour of sleep! It was my fault because I was at a friends place playing the Wii and having a few drinks. So, my mind is still on slow mode, therefore I won’t have much to post today. Thank God I still have some Chicken in a Biskit!!!

Chicken in a Biskit and Kids Messing with my Sleep

May 27, 2008

Well, I had a pretty filled up weekend. I was not able to get online much, but I had a fun and exhausting weekend. I spent most of Friday night playing Wii tennis and bowling at my friend’s house. Saturday had to run some errands and while I was at the store, and thanks to being reminded about them on XE, I had to get some Chicken in a Biskit!!!

I got the “Family Size” too, so I’ve been eating these things all weekend! I hadn’t had these in months! I forgot to get the cheese in a can to eat these with, but they’re still good plain! I thought of getting two boxes, but it’s best I only bought one. I can tend to become obsessed with these and would need an intervention to get me off of them. Kind of like when I have sunflower seeds.

So, I spent most of the weekend at my best friend’s house. She had a car accident last week and now has no car while it’s in the shop. So, I came over to hang out. We were up pretty late on Saturday, so we didn’t get much sleep. Sunday afternoon we decided to take a nap in the living room. We had just started to get to sleep when her doorbell rang. She goes to check the door and no one is there. We go back to sleep and about 10 minutes later, the doorbell rings again. And again, no one is at the door. My friend then tells me that it’s the kids that live down the street since they’ve done this before. We were annoyed that they messed with our nap, but we left it alone and finally got some sleep. About 2 hours later, they do it again! I mean, come on, you did your little joke earlier and we let it go, enough is enough. Don’t mess with people who are tired! My friend did go out there and let them know that if they did it again she would tell their parents. I’m all for kids being kids, but don’t start harassing the neighbors! Ugh. Lesson to learn here: I have no patience for anything when I’m trying to nap. :)

Alright…time to try to get back into regular workweek mode. Hopefully I can post later today. The week after a long weekend is such a drag!

Some Friday Cuteness

May 23, 2008

Nothing really to post today so, here’s my little girl Kyna again. She’s being a playboy bunny. She’s so spoiled. I extra spoil her because she was adopted from an abusive home and she deserves a good life now after being treated so badly. Plus, she’s such a sweetheart!

I’ll try to post this weekend, but I’m not sure if I’ll get around to it. So, if I don’t, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

No Regrets?

May 22, 2008

There is a book out called “No Regrets” which showcases some of the worst and most ridiculous tattoos people have got. I can understand individuality and what one person likes another may not. Heck, I have 8 tattoos, one of which is a Spiderman tattoo that I like and I know that wouldn’t be something everyone would like. But, some of the tattoos in this book are just freaking ridiculous. I can’t imagine at some point these people won’t have at least a smidgen of regrets. Here’s a small sample of the best of the worst.

Never get tattoos when you’re drunk. It won’t seem as funny or cool when you’re sober. But the rest of the world will get amused at your expense! :)

Crystal Gravy

May 22, 2008

With the new Sierra Mist undercover orange soda, I started reminiscing on Crystal Pepsi. I don’t know why there was such a need to make everything clear back in the day. Anyways, it reminded me of this old SNL parody of Crystal Gravy. It’s so gross and hi-larious!!! Click on the picture below.

Spidey Goodies Part One

May 22, 2008

I have been collecting Spider-Man stuff since I was a kid. A friend recently told me to sell some stuff, but I’m not ready to part from all my stuff yet. Anyways, thought I’d post some of the stuff I have. These are only a very small fraction of what I have, but a lot of stuff is put away so, these are just some things that are around the house. I’ll take pictures of more stuff this weekend and post them then.

This is a ceramic statue of Spidey scaling a brick wall. I’m not sure where I got this. I believe I’ve had it for almost 15 years now. It’s pretty heavy and it’s probably about 12″-14″ tall.

This is another statue. This time Spidey is crawling on a round platform with a spider on it. I’ve had this one about 10 years. I found it at a hobby shop and had to buy it! I don’t remember how much I paid for it at the time, but I’m thinking it was somewhere in the range of $30.

This is a chalk drawing of Spidey. A friend of mine had a cousin who could draw so, I asked him to draw Spiderman for me and this is what I got. It’s actually really good! Don’t know if this is an original or not because I don’t know if this guy ever drew another Spiderman like this again.

These are tiny little plastic, big-headed Spidey’s. A friend gave these to me in high school. They’re kind of cute and they look like some kind of Japanese toys, but I’m not sure where they’re from.

This is one of my faves. This is Spidey curled up in a ball to make…well, a ball! I got this when I was a lot younger in some kids meal from a fast food restaurant. I just can’t remember which one. This thing is way cool!! And sturdy! They used to give good toys back in the day. Not like the cracker jack box stuff you get now. Now you have to pay extra after the purchase of the meal to get anything half way decent! I’ve had friends who have wanted this ball, but this one I won’t give up or sell! I’m taking this to the grave with me! :)

So, there’s a tiny taste of some of the stuff I have. Once I get into the garage and get pictures of a lot of the other stuff, I’ll post them. I’m just not in the mood to dig through the boxes now. Plus, the stuff in the garage is way older and there’s some pretty cool stuff! In the future I may post my football stuff collection too…that’s another obsession of mine! Maybe I should sell some things and put a portion of the money towards my therapy! :P

Smoke Break

May 21, 2008

Last week I blogged about a soda store here in southern Cali. that had a variety of hard to find or interesting sodas. Well, they also had some old time, nostalgic candy. Most were candy you might find now but with the older packaging. However, I did find what I considered to be one of the best candy products ever from my childhood…Bubblegum Cigarettes!!!

Sorry, the pic is a little dark. It doesn’t do this genius of candy justice! I was in such a dilemma, whether to open the box and enjoy holding this cigarette between my index and middle finger while sitting out on my front porch or leave this box alone. I chose to keep it closed and let it sit in my living room so everyone can enjoy the glory of it. I will have to get another box of these as I really want to open it. Plus, they have different box designs and I may have to get one of each!

I’m a Goober!

May 20, 2008

Okay, so I was cleaning out my desk drawer at work and came across my jar of Goober. This stuff has got to be the best freak food ever! The genius behind putting peanut butter and jelly in one jar was fascinating to me as a child. Now as an adult I realize that they’re is some crazy stuff in this to keep it from needing refrigeration, but you can’t beat the simplicity of it!

And if you look at the label they have a grape and a peanut cuddle up together in perfect harmony. The picture alone is enough to make me eat it just for the warm, cuddly feeling it gives me, ignoring the fact that the grape and peanut are basically suicidal begging you to eat them. To top it off the peanut proudly proclaims Goober as “America’s favorite combination peanut butter and jelly”. To tell you the truth, I thought it was America’s only combination peanut butter and jelly, but to know it is the favorite gives me a feeling of superiority that I am eating the best! So, I say everyone should go out and buy some Goober…because if you don’t the terrorists win!
